<p style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding: 0px;">“Spring of Yangchun” is not a love story between men or between man and woman, but is try to purely narrate a love story which have no matter with gender different. Before I shot this film, I was totally innocent about homosexuality, but by now, I found that my fore belief was right: love is beyond gender different.</p><p style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding: 0px;">This film narrates a complex story(or better say status, because there’s few circumstances), and I tried to express those sensations and status with the most simple and implicit images. Simple and implicit, that’s my principle of making this film, and also my idea of film art.</p><p style="border: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; padding: 0px;">Indeed, film can’t carry too much thing; so as a director, why not to be simple, and leave the space of imagination to the others.</p>
