SYNOPSIS
An ordinary girl named Xiaoman received a special gift — a camera on her 22nd birthday party. The camera acted as a life-saving straw, freeing her from the nightmarish sense of bewildered helplessness temporarily when she was confused of the nihility and absurdity in her life. She wanted a strong feeling of existence and the meaning of her life. Then she wanted to be a cameraman. With this camera, she came across the girl named Tongxi in her photographic studio and fell in love with her at once. The happiness time spending with Tongxi seemed to be just the life Xiaoman wanted.
As time passed by, she grew bored with this lifestyle. She lost her inspiration and motivation both on photography and on her lover. She felt miserable to see everything clearly about the future. And then she had an illusion. She dreamed a same girl every night. She wanted to know the meaning of this dream, and what actually the girl in her dream wants to tell her. But she couldn’t find the answer. Then she tattooed an eye on her arm. She thought the “third eye” will see clearly the world around for her. However, the “eye” brought Xiaoman to the dangerous circumstances of the girl in dream. In the dark time, the eyes began to see.
Youth is just like an improvised draft to her. She couldn’t tell her illusion from the truth herself. So who could wake her up then? Her eyes seems to dim again and again.

Now I want to study abroad to know more about movie and experience a different life. Fascinated by marginal people, I’m addicted to their miserable or interesting stories. And that’s how I became a totally movie-lover and would like to further my dream in media — making valuable independent documentaries and MTVs and serving for non-profit groups. Besides, I’m in love with rock’n’roll and all the kinds of indie culture. On the road — it’s my final dream like many young people. In my age 23, life just begins.</p>
Director's Statement
<div>Before graduation, I left my job and devoted to making my zero-budget independent film My Eyes Dimmed Again under impulse. The half-hour film concerning homosexuality aroused intense controversies among over 300,000 audiences. I ran all around the city searching for the 15 gay bars to experience the life of the homosexuals. This became good inspiration to me to write this film. It was my first experience of being the director, writer, photographer and editor of a film. I also acted as the script supervisor, narrator, and English subtitle translator.</div><div><br></div><div>Choose life, choose lover, and choose to be someone — but Xiaoman doesn’t choose, she just feels them. Sometimes we seem to suddenly understand the true meaning of the life and then we are passionate with all that we love which is the very power that drive us all the way. With the time goes by, however, we gradually get confused in the same puzzle again. Even to the thing we believe in with all our hearts, we couldn’t see clearly in a certain moment. And that is what the short film MY EYES DIMMED AGAIN tells about.</div><div><br></div>
