SYNOPSIS

Yu and Jun were in love for years. Their relationship interfered by another man from time to time. For love or just curiosity, Jun followed Yu to a bar. There he fell for this man.

One night of stalking made the loneliness of three men became one sort of love.

Director Biography

<div>Wu Man went to the Netherlands for university at the age of 17. Five years later, she returned to China and further studied at the Department of Literature of Beijing Film Academy and the Liu Xinting Film School. She is an independent film director, feminist, and member of the Beijing Queer Film Festival organizing committee.</div><div><br></div><div>R1: "Nonexistent" must be translated as "will not happen."&nbsp; The original works include "A Kind of Loneliness," "No Such Choice," "Crime Scene," and "Testament." The narrative short film "A Kind of Loneliness" was created during a postgraduate study at the Beijing Film Academy and completed in June 2012. It earned an invitation to the 2012 Kyoto Film Workshop in Japan, where 20 directors from around the world learned traditional "era dramas" at the Shochiku Studio. In December 2012, the filmmaker participated in the short film "Gambling Affairs" (which won the Best Short Film Award at the Hardboiled Yokohama Film Festival). This work was screened at the 10th Beijing Independent Film Festival in August 2013, the 6th Beijing Queer Film Festival in June 2013, and the 1st China Grassroots Women's Film Festival in November 2013. The experimental short film "Crime Scene" was exhibited at the "Great Stage" art video showcase at Beijing Heiqiao "OFF Space" in May 2013 and was shortlisted for the @798 "Creative Cross-Border China" Youth Creativity Competition in October 2013. The one-person short film "Testament" was completed in July 2013. It was screened at the "Sage's Rhythm" group art exhibition organized by the "Empty Space" at Beijing Heiqiao Art District in August 2013, the 1st Grassroots Women's Film Festival in November 2013, the Beijing Youth Art Festival in 2014, and was nominated for the Youth Unit Short Film Competition at the 2014 FIRST Youth Film Festival.</div>

Director's Statement

<p>It is a film about loneliness. The conflict between reality and love is just an excuse. Their deep loneliness is the actual drive of the story. I wish this type of feeling could be understood, since people are too used to judge others upon on morality.<br style="">Peace and love is my dream.<br>It participated in 10th edition of Beijing Independent Film Festival in August 2013, 6th edition of Beijing Queer Film Festival in June 2013, 1st China Women Film Festival in November 2013 and Beijing Jue international festival 2014.</p>
