Director Biography
Cen Bingxing is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Documentary at the University of Poitiers in France. At present, her focus lies on creating comedic films that explore cross-cultural themes.
Director's Statement
“Oh, Paris! You are elegant, beautiful, and romantic! Wait, where is France on the world map?” Is the distant spiritual homeland so wonderful precisely because it is far away? After experiencing a year of ups and downs in my life as a student in France, I decided to make this short film as a summary of the past year. With a very low budget, every member of our small crew took turns to contribute. It could only be expressed in one way—that is, the local livelihood programs I often watched on TV during my childhood, like another kind of “hometown.”
